Plus Size Style
I am not sure if it is my background as a plus size model and stylist or just me true love of Fashion that drives me to seek out the best looks to dress my body. I have been plus size for as long as I can remember and I am not promoting any size agenda here this is not an us vs them situation I think all bodies deserve great clothing. I believe in and support size acceptance. What I don't believe is that your size means you can't look and feel your best. I try and leave my house everyday as my most confident self. When I go looking for new fun things to wear I really think about how my whole body will look in an outfit.
The purpose of today's post is to answer the question I get most often where do I find cool plus size clothes. I wish I could tell you it was easy it is not but it is getting easier to find them. The problem is that you have to do a lot of online shopping which has its own set of drawbacks but that is another blog for another time. Here is a list of the places I love

Making it Big Great local company who has great extended sizing.
I also want to give a shout out to my favorite plus size fashion blogger. Marie Deene The Curvy Fashionista who keeps me on the latest in the plus size fashion world. Check out her blog it is a great read.
So if you are a plus size women there is no longer an excuse for not trying to find amazing clothing in your size there are options. I have even recently stepped out of my comfort zone and bought a jumpsuit that I paired with fun wedges and a denim jacket. I am so glad I did. It had been a look I did not think I could pull off but I did and it felt good to break one of my own style rule. It gets hard to get out of your rut but when you do it can be worth it.

Summer White
I Love summer white. Well let's be honest I love clothes but in the summer a nice pair of white linen pants makes me extra happy. I am not sure if it was all of the valley girl movies of my youth or the fact that I spill a lot; white and I were never friendly until a few years ago. Once it gets really nice out you can find me in something white all the time. From my linen dress to my walking shorts summer white makes me feel great. Summer Ready
Let's be honest it's getting pretty hot up in Wine Country these days. I'm a girl from SF who has lived here for almost 12 years and I am still not use to these blazing hot summers. I have however learned to deal with it. Not to mention I have lots of friends with swimming pools which does make the summers much easier to handle. One of the things I do love though is getting summer ready mostly because I love to shop. Here are the 8 things you must have to make it through the summer in every budget.
1. Shorts
2. Ribbed Tank
3. Tee Shirt
4. Swimsuit
5. Coverup
6. Maxi Dress
7. Flip Flops
8. Beach Bag
First Set is Forever 21 and nothing here is over $30.00. They carry all sizes in store and online. I also LOVE forever 21 for trendy accessories but we will talk about that in an upcomming post.
This set is from one my favorite stores Talbots and nothing here is over $100.00. They also carry all sizes in store and online however our local store is limited so online is a better bet.
Who doesn't love a great store like Nordstrom. I shop here a lot to find some of the designer labels that I love. While the prices are higher as the saying goes you get what you pay for. Shopping Nordstrom is an investment in your personal style. I like to shop here for classic pieces I know will be in my wardrobe for a very long time. Now in this set nothing is over $200.00 and as the stores before they do carry all sizes in store and online.

The Tee Shirt
The Tee Shirt is something everyone owns. The problem is it doesn't always get the proper showcase. In every closet there are tee shirts but rarely do people think of them as anything other than casual weekend wear. I get that but sometimes I think a great white t-shirt with a colored pencil skirt and jacket makes a great office day outfit. Maybe even a great striped t-shirt just to add a bit style to a day of running errands. Next time you pick up a tee shirt think of a new way to wear it.
